Cookies

Taskmetrics sets two cookies, and both are needed for the app to work. There is no advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking here, which is why you will not find a cookie banner or a preferences panel — there is nothing to switch off that would leave you with a working app.
The cookies we set
Keeps you signed in. Set by Supabase, the authentication service behind Taskmetrics, and read on each request to confirm the session is yours. Without it you would be asked to sign in on every page.
Refreshed while you use the app; cleared when you sign out.
Your time zone, so that today means your today. Without it the server reckons dates in UTC, which puts the boundary between today's and tomorrow's tasks in the middle of your evening.
One year. Contains a time zone name, nothing else.
Stored in your browser, but not cookies
Two small preferences are kept in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us: your journal's typeface, text size and focus mode, and which in-app prompts you have dismissed. Clearing your browser data resets them.
The mobile app keeps its session in the device's secure storage rather than cookies.
What we do not set
No advertising cookies. No analytics cookies. No session-replay recording. No third-party cookies of any kind, and nothing that follows you to other sites. The privacy policy says the same thing about the service as a whole.
If you want to clear them
Use your browser's privacy settings — every browser can clear cookies for a single site. Clearing them signs you out, and your time zone is detected again the next time you open the app.
If this ever changes
If Taskmetrics ever adds analytics or any other non-essential cookie, this page will list it and a real control to refuse it will appear before it is switched on. A preferences panel that pretends to offer choices is not worth having.
