Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

These terms cover your use of Taskmetrics — the website, the mobile apps and the service behind them. Plain language on purpose: if a term here is one you would object to, you should be able to tell on one reading.

Three details are still being settled and are marked in the text where they appear: the legal entity that operates Taskmetrics, the governing jurisdiction, and the refund policy. This draft also has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

Who these terms are with

Taskmetrics is operated by [operating entity — to be confirmed]. Once the company is registered, its legal name and address will appear here. “We” and “us” mean that entity; “you” means the person using the service.

Accepting them

Creating an account or using Taskmetrics means you accept these terms. If you don't, please don't use the service.

Your account

Use accurate details when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and treat anything done from your account as your responsibility. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

Taskmetrics is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly serve them.

What you may not do

Don't use Taskmetrics to break the law or to infringe someone's rights. Don't upload malware. Don't attack, overload or probe the service — security research is the one exception, and the security page sets out how to do it welcome. Don't resell or redistribute the service, and don't use automation to work around plan limits.

Your content stays yours

You own what you create in Taskmetrics — your tasks, projects, time entries, journals and notes. You give us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store, back up, sync and display your content to you, and to people you deliberately share a project or journal with.

We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.

Free and paid plans

Tasks, time tracking, boards, the calendar and the mobile app are free, with no trial period. The free plan runs up to 3 active projects and keeps the last 7 days of tracked time and completed work in view. Archived projects do not count toward that limit, nothing is ever deleted to enforce either one, and an export always covers your whole history however far back it goes. Pro removes both limits and adds the writing and planning features listed on the pricing page, where current prices are also shown.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe and renew automatically each period until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. If a price changes, we will tell you before it applies to you.

Refunds: [policy to be confirmed]. Whatever we settle on will be stated here before paid plans go on sale.

Paid plans are not yet available to buy. This section takes effect when they are.

Changes to the service

Taskmetrics is actively developed: features get added, changed and occasionally removed. We won't remove something you rely on without a way to get your data out. If we change these terms materially, we will update the date above and say so in the app or by email.

Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your account, which erases your content immediately and permanently — see the privacy policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will say why first.

No warranty

Taskmetrics is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and there is no service-level agreement. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profits, lost data, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or nothing if you are on the free plan. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [state — to be confirmed], United States, and any dispute will be heard by the courts there. This will be filled in when the operating entity is registered.
